We have sought legal advice on several occasions from Herbert and found him to be very helpful, kind, humorous and "fatherly" with us. On a couple times he had us come to his home as guests rather than customers. We will miss him as will many in this area and this state. Our prayers are with you all.

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” I Corinthians 15:51,52
To The Family of Herb Henderson, Esquire:
The Pastor, First Lady, and members of the Heart of God Ministries extend to you our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your loved one.
Life is but a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. But, each life is under divine direction and the human will should be subject to His divine will at all times.
Whereas, the hearts of many have been saddened by the death of your loved one, we deem it befitting to express to the family our sympathy and breathe a prayer for you, that you may have strength to bear your sorrow.
Take comfort in the words of Jesus Christ, who declared, “I am the resurrection and the life: He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
No matter what hour the death angel may call, the promise of eternal life is given to those that love the Lord, to those that believe in Him.
It is our sincere prayer that God will comfort you, that His love will strengthen you, and that His words will bring your peace.
In closing we say to the family, weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Rely on God, who is willing and able to heal all sorrow.
IN SYMPATHY,
BISHOP FRED T. SIMMS, PASTOR
EVANGELIST JANET L. HAIRSTON, CHURCH CLERK

To the family of Herb Henderson, please accept my condolences for your tremendous loss. I had the honor of working on several cases with Mr. Henderson over the years and will always remember him as what I strive to be; a true gentleman's lawyer. He treated me the same as a young lawyer as he did later in my career; with respect. Our bar could use more lawyers like Mr. Henderson. May God be with you during these difficult days and fill you with the appreciation of the lives touched by Mr. Henderson.

Letter of Condolence:
October 20, 2007
To the family of Herbert H. Henderson,
We, the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church family, are thinking of you and extend our prayers of consolation and comfort to you on the passing of Attorney Henderson. He was a man for all times and a man before his time. He was a leader; he has helped people from all areas of life with no regard to race. He was an example for all people. He achieved greatness in his life, his church, his family and with friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and those he touched through his efforts here on earth.
Lord, we need not tell you of our sorrows in the still of our hearts. We ask for the family thy sustaining grace. Be thou their stay in this sore trail. You are the strength of their fainting hearts and the light of their darken home. Please assure them that he has found a better life and a more perfect rest in thee.
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth”. Psalm 121:1&2
“Blessed be God, even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies of the God of all comfort. For as suffering of Christ abound in us so our consolation also abound in Christ.” 11Cor. 5.

In fact, he co-signed for me to get a loan. That's great for someone he didn't really know. He also served as my agent. He will be missed. His family is my family. My heart felt condolences to the Henderson family.
We have lost one of the true leaders of Huntington, and the state of West Virginia. Herbert forged a way to justice in his own way. Always seeing a way to better oppoetunities for others and maintaining a ture family prospective for many to build upon. Herbert was darn proud of his children, and loved his wife dearly. He and Franklin Cleckly Esq., worked like the Lone Ranger and Tonto on may projects that most never knew was being challenged to make matters better for all.
May the Lord bless, Stay Well!
