Kenneth Eugene Pace"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Kenneth Eugene Pace was born April 1, 1930 in Bell County, Texas to David Melton Pace and Mary Retta Dennis Pace. Ken died February 1, 2010 at his home in Jasper. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Ken was a retired Air Force sergeant, serving his country from 1951 to 1971. He was a former auctioneer, businessman and President of the Woodland Park, Colorado Chamber of Commerce. He moved to Jasper with his wife, in August 1998. Ken loved his family, his farm, his tractors and his WWII Jeep that he restored, drove in local parades and exhibited at local festivals. He loved to sing karaoke and hosted and conducted many shows throughout the area. Ken is survived by his wife, Jan Pace; daughters, Kari Ellis of Jasper, Joni Pate and husband Jim of Jasper and Lori Erickson and husband Rob of Jasper; their grandchildren Cory Gaston and husband Will, Blane and John Ellis, Ben, Levi and Rachel Pate, and Josiah, Seth and Matthew McNammara and Ashley Erickson; six great-grandchildren, Noah, Bryce, Logan,MaKenzie, Taylor and Paige; brother Floyd Pace of Longview; sister Ruth Wallace of Jasper; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and twelve brothers and sisters. A grandson Adam Kellerman-Pate. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with interment to follow at West Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Odyssey Hospice at 902 N. Wheeler, Suite 1, Jasper, Texas 75951. Condolences can be posted at www.forestoaksofjasper.com
