David Samuel Johnson, 56, of Load, Ky., died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born May 15, 1946, in Ironton, Ohio, a son of Quiller Johnson, who died on May 14, 1983, and Florence Birtenia Osborn Johnson of Load.
He was a retired schoolteacher with the Greenup County School System and attended the Church of Christ in Load.
Additional survivors include three brothers, Joseph Benjamin (Phyllis) Johnson of Flint, Mich., Charles Jonathan (Carol) Johnson of Load, and James Ray (Theresa) Spence of Flatwoods, Ky.; a sister, Martha Jane (Robert) Wagel of Dowagiac, Mich.; six nephews, Aaron Stuart Wagel, Joseph Benjamin (Sandy) Johnson Jr., Richard Andrew Johnson, Charles Jonathan (Sarah) Johnson Jr., Alden Keith Johnson and Ashley Allen Wagel; four nieces, Rebecca Jean Johnson (Kevin) Richards, Patricia Ann Johnson (Percy) Pendred, Linda Bernice Johnson and Brenda Denise Johnson Stephenson; four great-nephews, Justin Kelsey Richards, Austin Tanner Murphy, Percy Lee Pendred, and Patrick Tyler Pendred; and five great-nieces, Sarah Ann Richards, Mary Katherine Richards, Lucile "Lucy" Wagel, Sarah Elizabeth Stephenson, Katlyn "Katie" Olivia Stephenson and Samantha Spence.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Church of Christ in Load by Bernie Parsons and Joe Hill.
Burial will be in Osborn Cemetery in Load.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today, Jan. 13, 2003, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup and one hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
