Mrs. Flora Carnes Bell, age 87, of 309 Carnes Rd., Buchanan passed away Thursday, August 24, 2006. Mrs. Bell was born in Haralson County on September 10, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Jacob Lonzo Carnes and the late Mary Elizabeth Smith. Mrs. Bell was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Dewey Locklear, Homer Kines and Fred Bell; and two sons, Wendell Kines and Rufus Locklear.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and George Tatum of Cartersville; two sons and three daughters-in-law, David and Lucy Locklear of Palmer, Alaska and Wayne, Wanda Kines of Cedartown and Edith Locklear of Buchanan; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Elizabeth Lee Simpson of Buchanan and Ina and J.D. Craig of Trion; One Brother and two sisters-in-law, W.T. and Grace Carnes of Buchanan and Rosa Kines of Cairo, GA; sixteen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. from the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Caldwell, Rev. John Hooper and Rev. Billy Rampley officiating. Music will be rendered by Wanda Kines and Rev. Billy and Gwen Rampley. Interment will follow in the Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery in Forney, Alabama with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chad Tatum, Clint Tatum, Jeff Melton, J. Kines, Tommy Carnes and Jamie Surrett. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
