Mrs. Thelma Louise Waldrop Perry, age 87, of 524 High Point Rd., Buchanan passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2006. Mrs. Perry was born in Celburne County, Alabama on April 26, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Hubert Waldrop and the late Jennie Mann Waldrop. Mrs. Perry was a retired seamstress with Hubbard Slacks. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Elbert Perry; one daughter, Betty Jean Hogan; one son, Charles Derick Deese; one sister, Annie Lois Bell; two brothers, Hoyt Waldrop and Cecil Waldrop.
Survivors include four daughters, Rachel Allred of Fruithurst, AL; Inez Sanders of Buchanan, Sandra Pollard of Buchanan and Hillary Perry of Buchanan; three sisters, Nellie Ruth Smith of Tallapoosa, Dorothy Hicks of Tallapoosa and Sybil Haney of Atlanta; twenty grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Allen Wilburn and Danny Hutcheson officiating. Music will be rendered by Rocky Rochester. Interment will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in Tallapoosa with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Marlon Pollard, Delbert Cash, Brandon Sanders, Don Scara, Larry Smith, Gerald Waldrop, Melvin Pollard and Rex Hicks.
Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
