Mrs. Amy Louean Ballenger Parkhurst, age 83, of 3920 Hwy. 120, Tallapoosa passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2006. Mrs. Parkhurst was born in Genesee County, Michigan on January 17, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Richard Ballenger and the late Ester Hadden Ballenger. Mrs. Parkhurst was a retired restaurant cook. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Parkhurst.
Survivors include one daughter, Doralene Laminack of Tallapoosa; one sister, Geraldine Washington of Arizona; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nineteen great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Buddy Gentry officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Harvey Laminack, Scott Laminack, Derrick Laminack, David Ginn, Justin Tetter and Joe Youngblood.
Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
