Mr. John Henry White, Jr., age 84, of Buchanan passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007. Mr. White was born in Haralson County on April 24, 1922. He was the son of the late Johnny White and the late Maggie Worthy White. Mr. White was a retired construction worker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lyle White; three sons, Bobby White, Paul White and Randy White; four sisters, Clora Brooks, Maydell Smith, Dorothy Lyle and Jackie Mullins; and two brothers, Martin White and Ray White.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Joan and Buddy Gentry of Buchanan and Marie Holcombe of Buchanan; two sisters, Wilene McBurnett of Tallapoosa and Janice Akin of Buchanan; eleven grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. from the Baptist Tabernacle Church with Rev. Buddy Gentry officiating. Music will be rendered by Brian Ridley. Interment will follow in the Baptist Tabernacle Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Ricky White, Dwayne Holcombe, Todd Gentry, Billy Wayne Kilgore, Jeffery Bowen and Robert Lyle.
