Richard Douglas Chapman Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1962 - 2007 Mr. Richard Douglas Chapman, age 44, of Buchanan passed away Thursday, January 11, 2007. Mr. Chapman was born in Fulton County on June 17, 1962. He was the son of Owen Eugene and Cornelia Strickland Chapman of Green Cove Springs, Florida. Survivors besides his parents include one sister and brother-in-law, Tracey and Joe Griffith of Buchanan; and one nephew, Bain Griffith of Buchanan; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from the Buchanan United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Scroggs officiating. Music will be rendered by Kersha Cartwright, Beleta Anderson and the Praise Team of Buchanan United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 P.M. at the Meriwether Memorial Gardens in Manchester, Georgia. Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.

I was so very sorry to hear about Doug's passing. I ran into Joe at a School Board meeting in Atlanta just a few weeks ago. He told me Doug had not been well but I had no idea that it was this serious. I remember how much I enjoyed being around Doug and Tracy when they were younger and cannot imagine the grief you are feeling at losing your son. My prayers are with you all Maggie Bowden

Sam and I are sorry to hear about Doug. Doug and our Sammy and Carole are about the same age. Carole will turn 45 on February 11th and Sammy will turn 44 on February 20th. Time passes and it has been a while since we saw Doug but he seemed like such a nice young man. Talked to Linda last night and she told us what happened. Sam and I just wanted to let you all know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and you have our heartfelt sympathy. Take care of yourselves and let us hear from you.
