1926 - 2009

Arthur E. Junior Hills spirit left to be with the Lord after a brief illness on Saturday evening, November 7, 2009, at Holzer Medical Center. He went peacefully while surrounded by his loving family at 83 years of age.

Arthur was born May 25, 1926, to the late Arthur and Lillian (Toney) Hill. He was preceded in death by his son, David Hill; grandson, Joshua Farmer; two sisters, Helma DeVault and Christa Scott; two brothers, Austin Hill and James Hill; 2 brother-in-laws,

Woodrow DeVault and Wesley Scott; and two sister-in-laws, Frances Hill and Christine Hill.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bernadine (Stover) Hill; daughter, Carol Farmer; and son, Charles Chuck (Dawn) Hill, both of Gallipolis; five grandchildren, Misha (Randy) McKinney, Eli Boone Farmer, Dax (Stephanie) Hill, all of Gallipolis; Carrie (Darrell) Travis of North Carolina; and Dusty Hill of Coshocton, Ohio; ten great grandchildren, a special nephew Roger (Janice) Scott of Bucyrus, Ohio and sister-in-law, Nina Mahan, of Gallipolis; many other nieces and nephews, as well as his special dog, Dolly. Special appreciation is extended to Misha, for the loving care and services they provided during their grandfathers time of need.

Junior retired from GDC after 32 years as a painter, enjoying many hobbies such as lawnmower repair, taxidermy, and building and refinishing furniture in his retirement.

He was baptized in Christ in 1994, and his faith in the Lord remained constant throughout his lifetime. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends of Maple Shade.

Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, with Pastor Rick Barcus officiating. Burial will follow at Mina Chapel Cemetery, Gallipolis. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00  12:00 pm the day of the service.

Junior was a second father to me. He taught me to hunt and fish, and we spent many hours together hunting and fishing. I will miss him.
