I am so sorry to hear the news last evening. Rick was my Very Best Friend more like a brother all through school. We lost touch after they moved from Romeo. I have so many memories and good times that we all had. Playing guitar together, playing football in our back yard, and the all night sleep overs that we had as kids. I always seemed that the morning after Rick was able to go home and crash and it seemed like I always had chores waiting for me that next morning. Maybe because we might have kept everyone up some. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to have known you and for you being a part of my life. I wish that we could have kept in touch over the years but I do not know where the time has gone. Thanks for touching my life. I know you will be missed by all. Until we see each other again, May God Bless you and your Family and Friends and give you comfort during these dificult times. Your Best Friend and Blood Brother. Steve

I worked with Rick at the Dept. of Human Services in Hartford. We always talked when we were on break at the same time. I was going through some tough times of my own and even when things were challenging for him he could make me laugh. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a great outlook on life in general, and truly a gentle soul. I am blessed by my life being touched by his. I considered him a friend indeed and miss him already. My condolences & prayers go out for his family and his friends. Peace and God bless you Rick !

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Hassinger, I am very sorry for not only the loss of Rick, but of Greg as well. I went to Jr. & High school at Romeo with them both. We always had fun and I remember fond memories of you at your house. I am saved by His blood and I pray they were too, in Jesus name I pray.

Working with Rick back in late 90's in Van Buren county was a pleasure. He was a gentle soul and a very good social worker in difficult situations...he will be missed.

Rick was an awesome caring soul. I enjoyed every hour I spent with him and loved his smile and Gearge Carlon light hearted take on life. He had a way of making others feel at peace even when things were hard for him. I feel lucky to have known this man and his family and I know he would only want peace and happiness for them. Peace be with you Rick.
