Donald passed away Thursday afternoon, September 2, 2010 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo with his family by his side. He was born March 16, 1915 in Hastings, MI the son of the late Edward and Mary Ellen (Richardson) Wait. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theater with Company A, 55th Armored Infantry Battalion. He was employed at the Upjohn Company for 30 years in Research retiring in 1980. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska where as a young man, he worked building roads. On June 7, 1941 in Ludington, Donald was united in marriage to Helen M. Niles who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Carol (Anders) Bergh of Kalamazoo, Linda (Charles) Felcyn of Paw Paw and David (Penny) Wait of Paw Paw; 8 grandchildren, Emilie and Erik Bergh, Scott and Brad Felcyn, Matthew, Ryan, Alex and Ethan Wait; great granddaughter, Aalana Felcyn. Family will receive friends Saturday, (9/18) 2 to 4 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a memorial service will be held Sunday 3 p.m. with Pastor Troy Gentz officiating. Military honors will follow the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
