I was in the FFA at Jasper High School (Parliamentarian and chapter surgeon). I knew Slugger well. He was a character and his antics would make an interesting movie.

I had the honor of working with this fine gentleman over 30 years ago. To me he will always be the ambassador of East Texas. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. I have thought of him often over the years. I just happened to see something on TV that reminded me of him (plane crashing onto aircraft carrier in WWII - how he lost his leg). So I googled "slugger mcgraw jasper" and their was his obituary. My condolences to all his family and friends. May God give you comfort in your loss.
