Glennis Earl Quillen, 87, of Route 7, Lynn, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
Mr. Quillen was born July 9, 1928 in Lynn, Kentucky a son of the late Dishmon and Myrtle Ketchum Quillen.
He was a United States WWII and Korean Conflict Navy Veteran
He was owner and operator of Quillen ’s Barber Shop in Greenup, KY since 1948
He was caretaker of the Quillen Cemetery on Route 7, Lynn since 1958
He was a member of the Wurtland Missionary Baptist Church in Wurtland, KY
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by
his wife Barbara Parsons Quillen
1 daughter Dena Gail Quillen
1 sister Ines Bailey of Troy, Ohio
He is survived by
2 sons Keith and Marion Quillen of Iron Station, NC
Mark and Janet Quillen of Rose City, MI
1 brother Dennis Quillen of Greenup, KY
5 grandchildren
12 great-grandchildren
3 great -great grandchildren
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Reed Funeral Home by Bro. Marvin Boggs. Military will be performed by Marine Corps League Greenbo Detachment #1345. Burial will be in the Quillen Cemetery, Lynn, KY
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 - 9:00 pm and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
