Glenn Louis Hughes
IRONTON-Glenn Louis Hughes, 92, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at KDMC in Ashland, KY. Glenn was born May 17, 1930 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Clarence Edward Hughes and Ruth Detwiller Hughes. He was a high school graduate and was self-employed as a farmer and he was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Brittain Hughes July 26, 1981. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Mary Alice Hughes; a brother, Carl E. Hughes; two sisters, Catherine Beatly, and Doris Simpson and two infants, Mark and Theresa. Glenn is survived by three sons, Greg Hughes, Kristopher Hughes and Sherman Michael (Alena) Hughes; Brenda (Sam) Skaggs and Greta (Charlie) Scaff; a sister, Martha Akers; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial for Glenn will be noon Monday, January 9, 2023 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church with Fr. Watikha officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, Monday 10:00 am until 11:30 am with recitation of the Rosary at 11:30 am.
