 Michael Martin Staker
WHEELERSBURG-Michael Martin Staker 35, of Wheelersburg passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023. Michael was born January 19, 1988 in Portsmouth to George Martin Lewis Staker and Patricia Kay Sparks Staker. Michael has an Associate Degree and was employed by Northwind as a Service Worker/Safety Supervisor. He was a member of Plymouth Heights Church of Nazarene. In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his wife, Cheryl Lynn Walker Staker whom he married August 17, 2019 in Lucasville, Ohio; a daughter, Marlee Lynn Staker and a sister, Katelyn (Nick) Daniels. In lieu of flowers, a college account has been established for his daughter, Marlee. Please make checks payable to Edward Jones, 2105 11th Street Ste. B, Portsmouth, OH 45662 FAO Marlee Lynn Staker.
Visitation and services for Michael will be at Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friends and family at the church 4:00-7:00 pm Friday, February 3, 2023 and one hour before the 10:00 am service on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Pastor Andy Ramey will officiate at the service and interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park. Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg has been entrusted with the arrangements. Dearest Patty and Marty,
My heart is broken for you, Michael’s wife and little girl, Marlee, Kate and her family….and all of your wonderful family and friends. I will always remember his sweet smile that he brought to Pre-1st everyday:). I have and will continue to pray that God sends his angels to surround you all…please know that I am thinking of you and yours…sending much love to two of the best parents and people and wonderful family ever. I am so sorry for the loss of Mike to you and your extended family. Mike was like a son to many of us old guys working at the PORTS site. We watched him grow in knowledge, skills, confidence, and character and it made us both happy and proud to be a part of it. When he greeted me, he always had a smile on his face, and made me feel like he was genuinely glad to know me. He touched many lives and made us great-full to know him. Although we don't understand why he had to leave, if we can see him now, we know he is in heaven and walking streets of gold. My best prayers and comfort to you. Dan Longpre

Our love to everyone who knew Michael and especially his family. Michael's memory will live on with everyone whose lives were better knowing him. When the leaves are turning in the UP we will miss his visits. This spring we will plant a memorial tree in the UP grouse woods that will be a living memorial in a beautiful place. Will miss you!
