Carl was one of my first table tennis coaches in the early 2000s. I’m now a coach and I use many of the ideas and concepts he taught me. I’m sorry for your loss. One of my favorite sayings was “Play fair. Give your opponent the chance to Make a mistake.” Carl improved the sport in Ohio and beyond Ohio. Those of us who benefitted from his coaching will never forget that.

I will miss Carl, he taught me how to play table tennis at a high level when I moved to the area and imparted a lot of wisdom to me as well. I especially enjoyed his stories about being in the service, racing drag cars and being on the bowling circuit and his impressive record as a long distance truck driver. He will be missed.
