1940 - 2024
 Manford Phillip Ranson, 83, of Huntington, husband of Judy Ranson died June 30, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Phillip was born August 21, 1940, in Gallipolis, Ohio, a son of Manford Kirby and Thelma McCoy Ranson. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Matthew Rodney Ranson, three brothers David Sullivan, Rodney Kent and Edward Eugene Ranson, sister Lynette Ranson Boyes and her husband Walter Boyes. Phillip is survived by his beloved wife Judy, his daughter Cynthia Ranson Grimes (Stephen) and his grandson Ryan Matthew Grimes. Phillip was a graduate of Barboursville High School and Marshall University with additional studies at the University of Cincinnati and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was a retired technical writer/editor from Inco Alloys (Special Metals). A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
