1943 - 2025
 David Picklesimer, 81 of Franklin Furnace, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 25, 2025 after a brief illness at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. David was born December 28, 1943 at home in Wheelersburg, Ohio to the late Orville and Julia (Dills) Picklesimer.
David is survived by his wife Rozenna (Rosie Pack) Picklesimer of 34 years, his daughters: Kimberly (Leo) Johnson of Ironton, Ohio and Christy (Craig) Long of Milton, WV. Pappaw Dave’s five grandchildren: Shane Bailey, Lane Johnson, Anna Long, Carter Johnson, and Dakota Long. And his six great-grandchildren: Emily Bailey, Simon Bailey, Gideon Johnson, Olive Johnson, Juniper Lawson, and Gemma Lawson, as well as two loving nephews, Anthony (Erika) Sheets of Jackson, Ohio and Andrew Valentine of Anderson, South Carolina and two special foreign exchange students, Jessi of Germany and Gus of Brazil. His siblings include: Harold Picklesimer (Kathy) of Fort Worth, TX, Helen Sellers and Janet Walk of Ironton, Ohio, Orville Jr. (Candy) Picklesimer, Wheelersburg, Ohio, Robert Picklesimer of Cincinnati, Ohio and Richard (Barb) Picklesimer of Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Special thanks to his caregiver and friend, Corina Collier.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Aaron Keith Maynard in addition, two infant daughters.
David was a proud 1961 graduate of Green High School. David began his career as a hairdresser after receiving his license from Portsmouth Beauty School. Dave went on to be a tools and appliance salesman and manager at Sears, Central Hardware, and Architectural Building Supplies, where he retired after over 45+ years. David was an active member of the Wheelersburg Jaycees, and a current member of the Aurora Masonic Lodge #48 of Portsmouth, Ohio. David’s heart and soul has always been taking care of his farm and spending time with his family. After retirement, David participated with the Gate City Gunslingers of Catlettsburg, Ky. and performed as the Marshall and a Deputy. David was a member of Jennette’s Creek Christian Baptist Church of Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
Arrangements are under the care of Harrison - Pyles funeral home of Wheelersburg, Ohio. Visitation will be Friday, October 31, 2025 from 11:00am-1:00pm with services following.
Burial to follow at Clapboard Cemetery of Pine Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Pall Bearers will be: Shane Bailey, Lane Johnson, Carter Johnson, Leo Johnson, Anthony Sheets, and Craig Long.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Cabin Critters Rescue in Wheelersburg, Ohio or SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Dave & family were friends & we worked together at the Sears Roebuck Company in Portsmouth. We graduated in 1961 and had similar interests. Dave was a good person who knew there was a Creator & Savior & loved his families and was a true patriot. I have been praying for you all & may the Lord heal your broken hearts. ART WADDELL
