Raymond L. Hensley, Sr., 78, of Milton, died Sunday, December 21, 2003, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1925 in Barboursville to the late Thomas Jefferson Hensley and Alma Walker Hensley. He was a life long resident of Cabell County, and was retired from Houdaille Industries. He was an avid nurseryman who was best known for his innovative intermittent mist propagating system. Survivors include his wife Doris Gibson Hensley, one son and daughter-in-law Ray and Debbie Hensley, two daughters and sons in laws Victoria and Scott Tobin, Lucinda Hensley and Larry Arnold, 3 Grandchildren Joanna Carabello, Melissa Schofield, Ryan Michel Arnold. 3 Great-grandchildren Rebecca Schofield, Amelia Schofield, Adam Carabello. 3 step daughters, Vicki Sowards, Kathy Holly, Karla Tackett, and 5 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alene Altizer Hensley. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridgelawn Memorial Park with Pastor Brady K. Lipscomb officiating.
