Jay was a great man. He often talked to me about his kids. Mostly his son Jason. He loved nature and poetry and was very good at it. It was a pleasure knowing this man. He will be missed dearly, but I'm sure where he is, he is lighting up someones day and making them smile, just like he did ours. And he is no longer in pain. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Love ya JayJay, Save me a seat close to you, and I'll see you on the other side buddy.

I am annie (1selkie1) and for a long time Jay and I were more than friends. Also I was pleased to be the recepient of some of his poetry. He was such a good writer. He also taught me to play gammon. A game I thought I would never learn to play. But he took me on and taught me. And I could beat him too, sometimes. I know he was gruff around the edges and could argue a point with the best of them. But he was also kind and helpful to those who asked. And he mellowed in the few years I knew him. When I had last seen him and talked to him he was messing around with his new computer trying to get everything set up. I was online with him about 1am on the day he passed. And I talked to him on the phone the afternoon of the 18th. He was on new medication and I don't think it was agreeing with him. During the week after he passed I did not get an e-mail from him. I thought that was strange and wondered if he was angry with me. I sent him a few emails but did not get a reply which was unusual for him, now I know why. I know he thought the world of his son, Jason, and his grandkids. And he loved those swans and loved to fish. But I think most of all he loved God. I pray he is no longer in pain and at peace in the loving arms of the Lord. My prayers go out to his family, Jason his son, and his two daughters Audrey and Julie, and all his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed among them and all that knew and cared for him. I will miss him and he will always be in my heart, I love you Jay xoxoxo, annie. DITTO!!!!! Jay smiles

Cindi & I are from Chicago and bought a home on Maple Lake last year. Jay was our neighbor friend. We were blessed to know Jay. In one years time we realized he had a heart of gold. We had Jay over for dinner several times. One dinner Jay brought several different type of fish he caught and cleaned. We enjoyed our weekend chats when he would visit. He always had kindness in his heart. He talked about his grand children with great excitement. He talked about Jayson, his son, with great pride. In one year we felt like we knew his family. Cindi received her last e-mail from Jay on Jan. 18th at 7:30 AM. We invited Jay for dinner and he wrote he wasn't feeling well and asked if he could take a rain check untill February. We will miss Jay and want to express our condolences to his family. Jay you are pain free now, enjoy your journey Home... You will be missed! Untill We Meet Again! Love Cindi & Bob Kent
