Jackson L. Keyser Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1945 - 2006

Jackson L. KeyserJackson L. “Jack” Keyser, 60, of Barboursville died suddenly Thursday, June 29, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Minister Dave Gladwell. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery. He was born December 9, 1945 in Huntington, a son of the late Leslie and Cleo Jones Keyser. His wife, Billie R. Keyser, whom he loved dearly, preceded him in death. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Todd and Monty Keyser of Salt Rock, WV, Jackie and Brian Brumfield of Barboursville, and Stacie and Andy Cogar of Ona, WV ; five grandchildren, James Slone and his wife, Rebecca of Wayne, Jennifer McComas, Katie Brumfield, Sammie Cogar, and his namesake, Jackson Raye Cogar. For the last 12 years, Katie, Sammie and Jackson have been the love of his life, and he was their hero. He had a special “adopted” grandchild and “redneck buddy”, Christopher Perry. He is also survived by one great grandchild, Hannah Slone of Wayne; three loving and caring sisters who were always there for him and his family, Betty and Louie Hutchinson of Charleston, Deloris “Sis” and Wandel “Peewee” White and Shirley and Lucian Stiltner, all of Salt Rock, WV; several special nieces and nephews who he was very proud of. He is also survived by a special friend, Doris Halcombe. Dad had many, many friends, neighbors, and loved ones who cared for him so much, especially his loving family at the Barboursville Church of Christ. He was retired from ACF Industries, a member of Barboursville Church of Christ, and served as an elder for 17 years along with his special friend, Roy Franklin. Dad truly enjoyed doing the work of the Lord especially teaching the teen class. Special friends and loved ones will serve as pallbearers. Roy Franklin, Christopher Perry, Drew Gladwell, and his special friends from ACF will serve as honorary pallbearers. Dad has always been there for us and we will miss him tremendously, but we know that he is now in heaven with Mom because together they fought a good fight, finished the course and kept the faith! Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville.

The Keyer Family....Your family is in our prayers at this time of the sudden passing of your father. We want to extend our deepest condolence in the death of your father. We have always felt there was no greater man, father, husband than Jack. He has always been considered a great friend and he will be missed. He always saw the good in people and was a faithful man of God. He served as a great elder and will leave a hard set of shoes to fill. We know that it must be so hard at this time but he is truly with the Lord with you wonderful mother and this is comforting. God Bless you and hold to the great memories and character your parents showed you. Love Judy-Marsha-Bill Rogers

My deepest sympathies to your family. I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr Keyser last summer when he was patient on my rehab floor at the hospital. He worked very hard to get back home to you, I hope the time you had since was wonderful. I always feel like a part of me goes with them when they leave the hospital and I feel it again when I hear of their passing. I know he will be greatly missed. Adelle Nicholas PTA SMMC SNU
