Mary E. Songer Koletka, 83, of Huntington went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2006 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by the Rev. Bill Blankenship and Rev. Jerry Galloway. Burial will be in Docks Creek Cemetery. She was born August 1, 1923, in Alum Creek, WV, a daughter of the late Sherman and Cee Childers Songer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack T. Koletka; two sisters, Fay Dunlap and Erma Rabell; one brother, Ray Songer. She is survived by a very special friend, Jim Miller of Huntington; two sons, Edwin Koletka and his wife, Tammie of Chesapeake, OH; Timmy D. Koletka and his wife, Kim of Barboursville; special grandson, Benji Koletka; several nieces and nephews; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. We were young parents and I had lots of questions about babies. Mary always came to my rescue. She was a good friend and adopted grandmother to Craig. I think of her often eventhough we have not lived close by for years. She was a special lady and we were blessed to have had her in our lives.
