1916 - 2006
Evelyn Lucinda Adams, 90, of Barboursville, has gone home to be with her Heavenly Father and will be waiting for her family and friends at Heavens Golden Gate. She was born August 2, 1916 in Birmingham, AL, a daughter of the late Chester and Clara Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Wyatt E. Adams, four brothers and two sisters. She was a wonderful christian mother, grandmother and homemaker, a very faithful and active member of Elmwood Baptist Church for many years, and also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, #95, Barboursville. She leaves behind three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Sandee Adams, David and Darlene Adams, all of Barboursville, and Franklin and Bobbie Adams, of Sibley, LA; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, October 6, 2006 at Elmwood Baptist Church by Pastor Rick Glass, Pastor Bob Browning, and Pastor Kenny Allen. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 6-9 pm Thursday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, and after 10:00 am Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons or Elmwood Baptist Church Activity Building Fund, 3045 Martha Rd, Barboursville. The family would like to thank their wonderful neighbors and friends for their many visits and prayers for Evelyn. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

We didn't know Evelyn very well, but we knew enough to know that she was what we all should strive to be. From what we have heard about her, she was the perfect definition of a Prayer Warrior. Like so many others have said,"Our Loss is Heaven's Gain". We will keep you in our prayers.

Our thoughts are with the family at this time. We will always remember Evelyn as a woman who gave her life and heart to the Lord and honored Him, in all that she said or did. She and Wyatt were so special and we will always love them and hold them in our hearts. We wish we could be there tomorrow for the service.

Our hearts are breaking for all of you, dear friends. Evelyn was such a tremedous blessing, exceptional witness and long suffering soldier for the Lord. But our loss is heaven's gain. We all would do well to aspire to be more like her. Her memory will live on forever in our hearts. Dave and Marnie

Dear Family.
My heart is with you at this time. I loved Evelyn and will miss seeing her when I visit there but we all know where she is and how she is rejoicing to see the Saviour that she so faithfully served.
God be with you and comfort you as only He can do.

I was very sad when I heard that Evelyn had passed on. I have such fond memories of her and Wyatt from when I was growing up. I took great joy in coming around the bend on my bike or walking and being able to stop in and say hello (and get some candy!). They were very good to me and my family. My deepest sympathy is with you and yours at this time.

Our family sends deepest sympathy for all. I will miss Aunt Evelyn very much. She and I always made sure to talk to one another at church when we came in. Her smile and wonderful humbleness will stay with me forever just like Grandma, a wonderful Christian and everyones "Mom" to all who knew her. Neda
