Roger O’Neil Morris, 84, of Barboursville, left his family and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by the Rev. Greg Dalton. Burial will be Ridgelawn Memorial Park with Masonic and Military rites. He was born October 9, 1922 in Huntington, a son of the late Gilmer Staten Morris and Grace McComas Morris. He was also preceded in death by a brother whom he shared the same birthday with, Albert Morris and one sister, Lenore Gunnoe. He was a Marshall University graduate from the School of Journalism , a veteran of the US Marines serving in World War II and was a member of Zion Lodge No. 1 F. & A.M., Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by the love of his life for sixty years, his wife, Alice Leah Justice Morris; one daughter, Marilyn Lee of Barboursville; one son, Roger O’Neil Morris Jr and his wife Marilyn of Sylvan Lake, Michigan; one sister, Lyda Mae Goan of Ocala, Florida; two brothers, Gilmer Staten Morris of Lakeview, Arkansas and Karl Dexter Morris of Culloden, WV; four grandchildren, Michelle McIntyre and her husband Perry, Marni Siew, Michael RyanCato and Ronald W. Hungerford; two great grandchildren, Ashley Siew, and Alice McIntyre; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 7-8 P.M. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
