1922 - 2007
 Rose Helen Adkins Rimmer Fly To Heaven White-Winged Angel...and she has! She left this world on January 29, 2007 and went to be with her Heavenly Father. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church in Ona with the Rev. Paul Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville. Helen was born August 28, 1922 to the late Dennis and Vesta Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Rimmer, four sisters, Deloris Joyce, Virginia "Ginny" Stowasser, Velma Jean Oalaker, and Ruth Ward. She was a long-time member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church in Ona where she served as both pianist and organist for many years. She also shared her beautiful voice in the choir and in various groups through the years. She was a member of a ladies quartet at the church - The Nightingales - that blessed everyone for so many years when they sang. Throughout her life she was known as a kind, generous lady that was always willing to help and share her time and talent with anyone in need. During her 65 years of playing the piano and organ, she played for countless weddings and funerals for friends and even strangers that needed someone. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Walter Lawson of Ona, her son and daughter-in-law, John and Nona Rimmer of Milton, one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Leonard Burks, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Edra Adkins, and Don and Leona Adkins all of Ona. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Doug Lawson and his wife Brenda, Lisa Jarvis and her husband Rod of Ona with whom she made her home during the last few months of her life, Juli Lovejoy and her husband Michael of Milton, Joseph Rimmer and his wife Tracy of Ashland, KY and Jody Rimmer of Charlotte, NC; seven great-grandchildren, Eli Lawson, Jacob and Jessica Jarvis, Todd, Tabitha and Karsyn Lovejoy, and Mason Rimmer along with many nieces and nephews and other family members and a whole host of friends from the community and church. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Milton and at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Heaven’s choir just got a little bit stronger. Helen taught me my love for music when I was very young. She truly was an angel to most of us youngsters around Howell's Mill.
Although I feel sad by her passing, I'm sure heaven will be glad to receive her and she will take her rightful place in the gold choir.

Earth's loss is heaven's gain. Helen was a very special person and will be sadly missed by all. I will always remember our trips to the mountains, Helen loved it. Lisa you are also a very special person for taking care of your grandmother.
