1926 - 2007
Beatrice Ann Bledsoe Rucker, 80, of Barboursville, W.Va. left this world and went to a better place to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. She was born on April 8, 1926 in Salt Rock, W.Va., the daughter of the late Hezekiah and Ruby Donna Bledsoe. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William Edward Rucker; two loving sons, William Roger Rucker, Gerald Kie “Jerry” Rucker; four sisters, Velma Looney, Clara Jean Paugh, Lillian Scites, and Phyllis Curtis. Mrs. Rucker was retired from Owens Illinois Glass Plant with 26 years service and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a head strong Democrat. She loved to listen to gospel music. She will be remembered for her hard work of gardening, canning, and work in her kitchen for her family, from her homemade biscuits and gravy to the best cakes and pies, she never wanted anyone to go hungry. She was always very thoughtful with her words of advice and making sure you always had a little extra cash. She leaves us with many wonderful memories and stories to tell of a very caring and dedicated mother and grandmother. She is survived by two loving daughters, Patricia Sue Bumgardner and her husband Dean, Barbara Gail Wells and her husband Tom, all of Barboursville, W. Va.; a very special daughter-in-law, Brenda Joe Rucker, of Charlotte, NC; a very special grandmother to Amy Farley, Angela Hagler, Todd Rucker, Shawn Rucker, Jamie Wells and Tracey Wells; as well as the loving great-grandmother to Cecily, and Courtney Hagler, Lowell, Caleb, Abby, and Lily Farley, Kayla, and Hannah Rucker, Maddie and Sophie Rucker; one brother, Hedrick Bledsoe of Altoonia, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Bob Ray. Entombment will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

To all the family,Sarah and I would like to express our condolences to all the family. We know we have lost a great friend.Bea was always good to us and she had a smile that warmed your heart. We always stopped to see Bea and Bill when ever we came back to Barboursville for a visit. Your Mom and Dad was always there to help me when I was the Fire Chief there. I am so sad to learn that Aunt Bea has left us. But, she is only gone from our lives on this earth, not from our hearts. I will miss her very much.
But my sorrow is tempered with the fact that she is once again with Uncle Bill!
They both showed much love to me and I will never forget that. I love them both very much. As I do with all my extended family. That will never change.
I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
