Mrs. Dorothy M. Brown, 85, of Frederick died on Friday, March 30, 2007 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was wife of the late Robert Lee Brown who died in 1989. Born on December 12, 1921, in Cabell County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Mearl Hale Mills. Dorothy was a homemaker. She served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Loving known as "Granny" she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother; to know her was to love her. Surviving are 5 children: Robert E. Brown and wife Alma of Berryville, VA, Sylvia M. Brown of Frederick, Peggy L. Rowley and husband Clive of Thurmont, Marcia J. Smith and husband Ken of Frederick and Mark J. Brown and wife Sue of Annapolis; 10 grandchildren: Rebecca Pepper, Marc Pepper, Ginny Rowley, Lisa Campbell, Katy Brown, Robby Rowley, Amanda Brown, Phil Smith, Nick Brown and Laural Smith; 3 great grandchildren: Abby Pepper, Alex Pepper and Cullen Pepper; 4 brothers and sisters: Beatrice Simpkins and husband Herman of Barboursville, WV, Delores Perry and husband Gene of Kenova, WV, Dennis Mills and wife "Tiny" of Lesage, WV and Larry Mills and wife Reba of Bruceton, WV. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Vernon Mills and Enoch Mills.The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, April 4, at Wallace Funeral Home, 1159 Central Ave., Barboursville, WV where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 5, 2007.
