I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. We grew up together in Barboursville. My grandmother living next door to the family. The family will be in my prayers and to John's immediate family. He was a wonderful person and as someone else wrote, always smiling!! He was also in Scouting that is where I met him again after I married. We had some great times together growing up and he will be sadly missed.

I played growing up with John in Barboursville in the 1950's. Later we were both officers in the Camp Garnett Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterams. We shared our Civil War books and discussed them for hours. We were our own two-man Civil War book club. He will always live in my memory.

I woud like to extend my deepest sympathy to John's family and friends. John and I were childhood friends all of our lives until I moved from Barboursville at age 24. I have many good memories of both John and Tom as we grew up together.
