James Johnson  ParkerJames Johnson “Big Jim” Parker of Culloden, WV, husband of Patricia Pore Parker passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton by Minister Wayne Carter of Beverly Hills Church of Christ where Big Jim was a member. Burial will be in Waugh Cemetery. Big Jim was born July 6, 1949, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Johnson Parker and Dorothy Walker Parker. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Hage and brother Charles William “Bill” Parker. In addition to his wife Pat he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Kenneth Smith of Jeffersonville, Indiana; two grandsons, Ryan Smith and Justin Smith also from Jeffersonville, Indiana; one niece, Loretta Jeffrey of Huntington; nephews, Ray Miller of Ohio, Bob Parker of Arizona, Bill and Dave Parker of California, and Kirk Parker of South Carolina; great nieces, Kirsten Budd of Huntington and Nicki Gross of Ohio. Big Jim was an avid dirt track racer. He was a retired district manager of Wal Mart Supercenters TLE, and retired also from Independent Equipment. He previously was the owner of Gino’s Mercer County, and General Manager of Gino’s Pizza in West Virginia and Ohio locations. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hospice House of Huntington, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

We shared a lot of challenges along the way with our racing, but they were far outweighed by the good times we had racing with Jim. We'll surely miss him!!!
