Katherine Katherine “Kat” June Poynter, 73, of Barboursville, passed away, Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Hospice House of Huntington after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Minister John Mayo. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born June 6, 1934, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Lyle G. Mays and Fay E. Sowards Mays. She was a member of Norway Avenue Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland O. “Hody” Poynter and son-in-law, Thomas Alan Wiseman. She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Wiseman of Barboursville; one son, Larry Poynter of Barboursville; one sister, Dortha “Dot” Mayo of Granite Falls, NC; and two grandsons, Jeffrey Alan Wiseman and Matthew Scott Wiseman both of Barboursville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. 464 Huntington, WV 25709 or to a charity of one’s choice.
