Monday, Sept. 24, 2007. Condolences from the Conner Family to the family of Truman Adkins. We're going to miss him. We saw him in May 2007, he preached at Bowen Ridge and we sang. Larry and Truman go back many years. Larry's is out of town and can't come to the funeral but we all know we'll see Truman again and it won't be long. The first time I met Truman was at a benefit sing, he sure is an inspiration to me and everyone. It's going to be such joy to sing with him in heaven. God bless you all, Love & Prayers, Linda (The Conner's)

My parents, Albert and Jewell Blankenship, and myself, wish to extend our condolences to the family of Truman. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. His life is a true testiment of a good and faithful Christian soldier. He fought a good fight and kept the faith until the end. When I was a little girl and he would come to Millers Fork UBC, he could not remember my name but that was alright because he knew me as the "girl from Gilkerson Church", and he knew who my parents were. I loved to listem to him preach and sing because it would lift up the whole church and everyone would be shouting and praising God with him. As I stated before, his presence will be greatly missed, but we can rest assured that he will be at rest and waiting for that great homecoming day when God will call him home and he will rejoice with all of God's children in Heaven. God Bless and keep your family safe.

L.T. & family - In this life if we're so blessed to meet a few people that inspire us and motivate us to keep going on, it's worth more than any words can express. Your Dad was one of those people to me. He was definitely an inspiration and I felt so blessed to be in service with him or to even meet him out somewhere just lifted my spirits. He'll be greatly missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. Love you very much Jenny (Adkins) Casteel

Condolences from the Roby family to the family of Mr. Adkins. His great character is reflected in that of his sons, with whom it's been a pleasure to work for many years at Steel of WV.(Enjoy your retirement, Lowell!) They've told me often what a wonderful singer their dad was. Take comfort by the fact that he's in the physical presence of JESUS CHRIST, now and forevermore. No more pain, no more sorrow; only eternal joy. Bet he's REALLY singing right now! Phillip C. Roby

I can remember Truman from the time I was a little girl. He was always a postive influnce and mentor to my family. My Dad, Dillard Estep, Grandpaw, John Stephenson worked with him at BSAF. Any time our family was in need he was there to lend a supporting word. We remember the many church services we attended where he would be preaching and singing. He loved to hold the Lord up. He would get so excited he could hardly stop preaching when he got started. This will be one gospel soldier that will be missed by all that came in contact with him and remembered by all near and far forever. May God's blessing be with this famlily during their time of need.

I can remember Brother Truman from very very early on in my life. He was always a positive empact on me from that day forward. I can remember the tent revivals very well and he and my Grandparents worshipping and praising the Lord together. A true old time Christian Warrior and he will be missed greatly. May God truly bless and comfort his family and send them many many loved ones to lighten the load. Prayers and Blessings
