Dear Mrs. Cartmill and Family:
I want to express my condolences to you over losing Larry. I was on one of his undefeated basketball teams with Randy (our 7th grade year). Larry was a kind, patient coach and I am grateful for his taking the time to coach us.
I also have fond memories of being in the band with Melody who was such a sweet girl. I see that she and Randy are married. I married Vicki Ray who was drum major Melody's sophomore year. We have three children and live in Knoxville, TN.
Mrs. Cartmill, I know that you have had a full and busy life since I graduated from BHS. You and others have made Barboursville such an inviting town. (I periodically drive around it and reminisce.) I trust that you have many friends to comfort you, and I pray that God will comfort you and your family.
Please convey my regards and sympathies to Randy and Melody.

I am truly sorry for the loss of such a good man. Larry was always good to give me grief because he cared and liked to make me laugh. His love for his wife and his family were always obvious and I will miss him. My sincerest sympathies to the entire family.
