 Nellie Ruth Preston, 86, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at home. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born June 2, 1921, in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late John Dodds and Bertha Sullivan Dodds. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Barboursville, and was retired from CSX Railroad. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Shade R. Preston; one sister, Erma Stone; brothers, John, Clifford, and Kenneth Dodds. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Robert Harber; one son and daughter-in-law, Shade R. and Marsha Preston; two sisters, Margaret Dodds and Janet Dow; one brother, Robert W. Dodds; one sister-in-law, Martha Dodds; six grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Ellis, Jeffrey (Tina) Ellis, Jennifer Harber, Jill (Reno) Roswall, Dr. Shade (Kelly) Preston, and Slone Preston; four great-grandchildren, Michael Lee Ellis, Tristen Meadows, Patrick Ellis, and Ryan Ellis; two great-great-grandchildren, Morgan and Conrad Ellis. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The family would like to thank Nellie’s special care givers, Barbara Miller and Virginia Roswall.
