I am a neighbor of Mr. Adams and was surprised to hear of his death. We thought he was "out of town" for the Holidays. I had only met him a few times, but he seemed like a very interesting and friendly man. I'm very sorry for your loss, and will miss seeing him sitting on his porch when I pick up the mail

I drove up the hill as i have done many, many times and parked in the field. as I stood in the cold and silence I heard a gentle weeping. I asked the wind to tell who was crying and why. The wind told me the trees were weeping, at first because they were now safe from hermans chainsaw...but now because the one man who cared about them the most was no longer there to potect them and the ground he farmed for so many years. And I wept with them.
Herman, may your saw be strong and fast, the chain sharp, your tiller ready to dig and seeds ready to plant. I know where you are and hope someday to sit with you and under a big maple at a picnic table like we have done so many times before and enjoy the afternoon sun. Take care my friend, i will miss you untill we meet again.

My prayers go out to Mr. Adams family. He was a customer of mine here at Allstate Insurance and enjoyed seeing him come in and listening to his stories about deer hunting and seeing pictures that he had to share. He will be sadly missed by his friends here at Ransbottom Insurance Agency.
