1927 - 2008
Charles Dawes Spears, 80, of Barboursville, WV, went to be with our Lord in Heaven on January 29, 2008, after a long illness. He was born April 27, 1927, in Branchland, WV, a son of the late Everett and Effie Harless Spears. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force after serving fourteen years and was a member of the Barboursville Chapter of the American Legion. Survivors include his loving wife of47 years, Barbara Chapman Spears; two sons, David (Patricia) Spears of Pennsylvania and Michael (Deborah) Spears of Maryland; three daughters, Mary Hughes of Huntington, Michele Hartwick of Virginia and Mona Bowen of Barboursville;11 grandchildren and four great - grandchildren. Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Wallace Funeral Home by the Rev. Jonathan Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
