1920 - 2008
 Homer Harold Adkins, 88, of Lesage, WV, passed away Friday, February 22, 2008 at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Minister Bob Huron, Minister of the Westmoreland Church of Christ. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. He was born January 4, 1920, in Barboursville, WV, a son of the late Andrew Jackson Adkins and Eunice Irene Chapman Adkins. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He received the Good conduct medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal & Bronze Star Attactment, World War II Victory Medal, Honorable Service lapel button WWII, Marksman Badge, Machine Gun Bar and Rifle Bar. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hattie Mae Beckett Adkins, second wife, Wanda Adkins, and one son, Ronald Lee Adkins. He is survived by his children, Kenneth, Ray, David and Herald Adkins, Eunice Ross, Stella Dobis, Barbara King, and Judy Suiter; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a special daughter-in-law, Clara Adkins who gave him care for the last five years of his life. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
