Brooke, I just heard this horrible news today. I am so sorry. I know how very close you are to your parents and what a crushing blow this is to you, your dad and your kids. I know what you are going through and my heart goes out to you. I would love to tell you that with time things will get easier, but I too am still waiting for that day. So my heart breaks for you and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please get in touch whenever you feel up to it. I have found through the years that your oldest friends are the best friends. Maybe we can be of comfort to each other and somehow make it through this horrible year. All my love, Alicia Smith

Deb, and I never got the pleasure of spending time with Monna. Although, after joining our church we knew that she must have been an angel on earth. We will pray that God will touch Dave and his family during this time of loss. We most certainly know that Monna is now in perfect peace and comfort with her Father in Heaven. Our love and prayers go out to this wonderful family. God Bless in a wonderful way. We love you Dave!

David, Brooke and family - I am so sorry to hear of Monna's passing. She was absolutely one of the most humble and sincere ladies I have ever known. I remember years ago her playing piano for the girls at Cox Landing and how I enjoyed hearing them. When we attended Olive Baptist, David, you and Monna were always so encouraging. I remember how you opened your home to special events for the youth. My son Adam still remembers the Easter Egg Hunts at your home even though he was very young. You and Monna always made us feel welcome and special. I think the most impressive thing I will always remember about Monna was her prayers in Sunday School class. As soon as she starting praying, you just knew she had a "connection". God Bless you and your family.

David, we were so shocked when we read of Monna's passing. Joyce and I have so many fond memories of our school days at Barboursville High School. May God's riches blessings be around and about you and the family. There is a day coming, sooner than we think, when we will all be together with our loved ones again.
With our love, PJ and Joyce

Monna has always been so special to me. When I think over the best times in my life...Monna and David are in them. We had a rare and wonderful friendship. I can't begin to list all the qualities of Monna Smith. She loved the Lord and it showed in her words and actions. When I was down, Monna was my lifter upper! I thank God for the privilege of having her for my friend. Oh what sweet memories!!
