William Gerald   ParsonsWilliam Gerald "Jerry" Parsons, 77, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Rick Glass. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born January 20, 1931, in Barboursville, a son of the late Jennings B. Parsons and Eva Virginia Browning Parsons. He was preceded in death by one son, William Gerald Parsons, Jr. Jerry is survived by his wife, Juanita Joyce Stewart Parsons; one daughter, Nicki L. Parsons Vipperman and her husband Ronald L. Vipperman of Charleston, SC; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Martha Parsons and Cecil and Janet Parsons; three grandchildren, Jodi Wright, Heather Scovel, and Jeremy Vipperman; three great grandchildren, Hudson Wright, Madison Wright, and Taylor Scovel; and special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The family would like to especially thank his close friend, Waymond Turman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV, 25702. Mimi, Aunt Jodi, and Mom I know you all suffered very hard losses I am thinking of you all every day. He was the one who broght our whole family together we will all miss him but he is in a better place now. We will be bett some day. -Taylor

Juanita and family, We would like to express our condolence to you and your family for the loss of a fine husband &father. I know he will be greatly missed. Juanita we haven't seen each other for many years. I live in Plano, Texas but we read the Huntington paper,on the computer every day and I talk to my sister Net at least once a week. Jerry was a very great person. never met a stranger, was a great person to be with and a great neighbor, was always there to help when he was needed,he will be greatly missed by our family
