1936 - 2008
 Mavis Lorene Meadows, 72, of Milton, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Emogene Dolen Jones Hospice House. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Forest Memorial Park Mausoleum with Pastor Winford Curry officiating. She was born July 11, 1936 in Lincoln County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Harry C. and Mabel Moore Stratton. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Denver, and Dorsey Stratton. She is survived by her husband, Roger Meadows; one son, Anthony P. Davis; two daughters, Kimberly Mayes and Kathy Meadows; one very special grandson, Cody A. Meadows whom she loved very dearly. She is also survived by three brothers, Loren, Merle and Melvin Stratton; two sisters, Anna Ruth Clagg and Marjorie Reynolds; several nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. She had several special friends and co-workers, Becky Smith, Goldie Bentley, Shirley Sheppard, Shirley Welder, Judy Sarver, Goldie White, Dwayne Walker, Linda Carpenter, Ron Mayes, Otis and Loretta Martin; two very good friends, Carson and Kenny Jin. She retired from the Dollar General Corporation as a manager with more than 20 years of service. She held several other jobs after her retirement. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the Emogene Dolen Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Family, I'm sorry for your loss. I work in the Fabric Dept. of Wal-mart with Lorene. I loved working with her, she was a hoot. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
