To Eddie's family.... Please accept my sincere condolences at Ed's passing. I knew Ed when I was a member of HPD many years ago and I remember him always joking and smiling. Ed loved to have fun.

To those that never got to know the real Eddie, all I can say is you missed the opportunity of a lifetime. On Sept.11,2001 Eddie and I reported for work like everyone else, on that day I saw first hand the compassion of Edward R. Blake. He truly loved his country and co-workers. So rest well my friend and when I ride later this week I'll have the passenger pegs down for you. Bob*

Eddie will be missed by everyone...he was a great man. I worked with Eddie on the CUFFED task force and since I came down here from Detroit and did know where things were, he took me under his wings and I learned a lot from him. He was a great friend and peer. My wife Somer and I will never forget Eddie.

Eddie was gruff on the outside but soft on the inside. I was fortunate to have him by my side as we arrested many dangerous fugitives. Eddie was brave and always willing to put himself in harm's way in order to protect the public. I am truly going to miss him. He knew more trivia about music than anyone I've ever met! He had an indomitable spirit and we can all learn from that. I'm going to miss you my friend!! Tom Smith

To the family, I worked a lot of years with Eddie and he chased my kids all over Pea Ridge for snowballing him. I really think he knew all along who it was and enjoyed chasing them. God's peace and Blessing be with you all. Lt. Paul Jordan, Retired, Huntington Fire Department.
