
ANGELO JOSEPH CICCARELLI, 86 of Ona, W.Va., formerly of Chester, W.Va., died September 15, 2008. Mr. Ciccarelli was born November 21,1921, in Chester, the son of the late Ildebrando and Anna M. Ciccarelli. He was a U.S. Army combat veteran of World War II, serving in England, France, Belgium and Germany. After his discharge from active duty, Mr. Ciccarelli served in the Army Reserve until his retirement as a Sergeant First Class in 1981. His military decorations include five awards of the Army Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Europe, Africa, Middle East Campaign Medal with two battle stars, the World War II Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal with "Germany" device, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with two bronze hour glass devices. Mr.Ciccarelli worked for many years in his family's business, Ciccarelli Grocery in Chester and retired from the former Crucible Steel Company in Midland, Pa. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Huntington and was a life long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester. In addition, he was a life member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. John R. Ciccarelli and Dr. Carl A. Ciccarelli, both of Chester. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Roma M. Ciccarelli of Ona; his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph I and Kimberly A. Ciccarelli of Milton, W.Va.; and his grandson, Joseph Corey Ciccarelli of Mooresville, N.C. He is also survived by two brothers, Dr. Harold E. Ciccarelli of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Dr. Virgil Ciccarelli of Los Angeles, Calif. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1304 Sixth Avenue, Huntington, WV at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008. A viewing will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home, 215 West Fifth Street, East Liverpool, OH, Monday, September 22, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4th Street and Indiana Avenue, Chester, WV at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008, with internment following at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell, W.Va.
