Alford Hamlin, 80, of Barboursville, WV, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008. He was born on May 22, 1928 in Proctorville, OH, a son of the late George and Della (Massie) Hamlin. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps and was retired from the US Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Louise Hamlin, one daughter, Linda Hamlin, a sister, Ruth Turner and a brother, Joe Hamlin. He is survived by two daughters, Janice McClung and Diane Parks; brothers, George Jr., Elmer, Harold, Carroll, and Johnny Jr. Hamlin; grandchildren, Ryan Hamlin, Jimmy Lee Stephens and Gary Sharkey; two great-grandchildren, Kyle Hamlin and Harrison Hamlin. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral Service to honor deceased, Alford Hamlin, of Barboursville, will be at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, 1159 Central Ave, Barboursville, WV 25504, (304-736-3431) on Saturday, 10/11/08 at 2p.m. Preceding this service is a time of visitation with family from noon to 2 :00 pm at the same location and a catered lunch is provided. Burial will immediately follow funeral at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
