Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2008, at Barker Ridge United Baptist Church with Rev. James Dailey and Pastor Charlie Henry officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery. Jeanie was born April 12, 1928 the youngest daughter of the late Ernest M. and Mary Chapman Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Raymond A. Dick, March 8, 2008, brother Harmon, nephews, George and Jim, and niece, Olga Jean. She was a devoted wife and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She graduated from Milton High School and worked at Syvania and the Ohio River Bus Company before raising her family, which she considered her best job, that she was most proud of. She was a life long member of Barker Ridge United Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher at different times. She loved her church and serving the Lord. She greeted every Sunday as a beautiful Sabbath morning. She loved the sunshine and enjoyed life as best she could. She often babysat her nieces, nephews and neighborhood children whom she always treated as her own. Survivors who will greatly miss her include a son, Raymond and Dee Dick; daughters, Nancy and Scott Hunter, Diana Frazier, and Becky; eight grandchildren who are her pride and joy, Shannon Jenny, Richard, Laura, Katie, Rachel, Josh and Thomas; four great grandchildren, Emily, Zoe, Jenna, and Allie; sisters, Bea Shumaker and Caroline Spence; brother, Brett Smith; special friends include, Gram, Willa Mae Roberts, her best friend, Elton and Casey Bond, Juliet and Shelly Smith, and many others. Many thanks to all doctors, nurses, interns and specialists at St. Marys Hospital whom she felt each was sent special to help her, including her best new buddy Dr. Neuriddean. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Be ye kind one to another, forgiving one another even as God for Christs sake, forgive you. Ephesians 4:32

ALTHOUGH I AM PART OF THE FAMILY, I JUST THINK ALL WHO READ THIS SHOULD KNOW THAT MY MAW MAW WAS THE MOST WONDERFUL, SELFLESS PERSON IN THE WORLD. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO LIVE WITHOUT HER. BUT I FEEL THAT WE MUST CARRY ON HER PRESENCE IN THE KINDNESS WE SHOW TO OTHERS. PLEASE BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER ALWAYS, AND TREASURE EACH AND EVERY MOMENT YOU HAVE WITH YOUR MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, ETC. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN GOD WILL CALL THEM HOME. WHEN THE FOUNDATION OF YOUR FAMILY HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM YOU, YOU MUST STRIVE TO HOLD WHATS LEFT TOGETHER. FAMILY IS THE MOST PRESCIOUS GIFT EVER GIVEN. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO KEEP IT TOGETHER. SO, TO ALL OF MY FAMILY, AUNTS, UNCLES, COUSINS, ALL OF US, WE HAVE TO TREASURE OUR TIME TOGETHER AND STICK TOGETHER NO MATTER WHAT. THAT IS WHAT MAW MAW WOULD WANT. I LOVE YOU ALL DEARLY.

I did not hear about your mother until Monday morning. I'm sorry I was not there for you when either of your parents passed away. I know these words are of little comfort but I hope you know how much I care about you and your family. I will keep you in my thoughts hoping it will help get you through this difficult time. Deepest Sympathy Linda Stanley

Diana,Becky and family. I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. This really was a shock to me, as I had just seen her at election time. I just heard about her passing. She was a wonderful person and so kind to everyone. May God give you strength until you meet her again. So sorry.

My dearest and longest friends, my heard aches for all of you and as you know I, of all people should know. 2006 is a year I will never forget and now for you all, 2008 will be a year that stays with you always. Carolyn, my sister, and I stopped by to see Jeanne just this month and had a very nice visit with your mother and she acted as though she was tickled so that we stopped. I am so thankful for that visit with her, you all know that she was so very special to us. Even though I can't be there with you at this sad time in your life, I will be with you in heart and spirit. All my love Janice Perry Tschirhart
