William Smith, Jr., 78, of Barboursville, passed away Friday December 12, 2008, at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2008, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Fred Anderson. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born July 31, 1930, in Minden, WV. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Helen Burks Smith; one daughter, Marguerite Smith of San Antonio, TX; three sons, Smokey Smith of Elgin, IL, William Lee Smith of FL and Sean Smith of IL; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Laura Webb of Ranger, and Ann and Russell Dechune of NC; one brother, Robert Smith of Knox, IN; four grandchildren, Joseph, Shannon, Candice, Nicole and Kyle Smith; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank their neighbors and friends for their help during Smittys illness as well as St. Marys Medical Center and Dr. Osburn for their excellent care and kindness to their family.
