1925 - 2008
 James Paul Hughes, 83, of Barboursville, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville with Pastor Andrew Magnusson officiating. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. James was born February 10, 1925 in Wirt County, W.Va., a son of the late Watt L. and Pearl Barnett Hughes. He was a member of the Baptist Temple, Huntington and was also a member of the Barboursville Senior Center. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was member of the American Legion Post 177 and VFW Post 9738. He was a life member of the ARRL. He is survived by his loving wife, Alma Dye Hughes; two sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Elouise Hughes and Douglas L. and Karen Hughes; five grandchildren, Brian, Todd, Starr, Linda and Debbie; 10 great grandchildren, Stephen, Jennifer, Katlyn, Hannah Jaelyn, Dakota, Paige, Austin, Braeden and Addison. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be sent to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
