John Howard Gibson, 88, of Ona, West Virginia, passed away on December 27, 2008. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Keith Creasy. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born July 25, 1920, in Bretz, West Virginia, a son of the late John Leslie and Dimple Lazalle Gibson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances K. Gibson; and two brothers, Arthur and Wayne Gibson. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Jonathan Dotson of Huntington, WV, and Patricia and Mark Garren, and their daugther, Emily, of Hurricane, WV; one son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Kim Gibson, and their daughter, Aubrey, of Alexandria, VA; one sister, Betty Darby of Bruceton Mills, WV; and one brother, Carl Gibson of Cleveland, Ohio.
