I will always remember Eddie from all of our years together in school. He was such a special person. He was truly a joy to know and be around. I last ran into Eddie about 6 years ago and he was still the same person that I remember back in high school. I'll miss him, but won't forget him.

Sharon, Chad and the Baumgardner Family -
Please accept my condolences regarding the passing of Eddie. Eddie was a wonderful man who had a smile that lit up an entire room. He was always caring, funny, intelligent, encouraging, positive, supportive and never knew a stranger. I used to call him "Dad" every time I saw him because he was like a Dad to all who knew him; especially those in the sports world! He is truly missed and I hope that during your time of loss that God grants you the strength and surrenity to move forward in which Eddie's spirit and the overall awesome memories of such a wonderful person will live on.
Sincerely,
The Hornbuckle Family

To the Family of Eddie Baumgardner,
When I was 12 years old and in baseball I remember meeting Eddie, He was the most enjoyed conversation on the ball field at all times. He would bring his chair and watch the games, one after another after another. Then in wrestling same thing supporting all the kids even when Chad and I had to wrestle against each other. He talked to kids as adults and made everyone around him feel comfortable and appreciated. I told my wife last year as I saw him sitting at another baseball game, that I first met him 23 years ago enjoying the same thing. He was a wonderful person and I feel better just having known him and his family. Forever in our thoughts and prayers.
R.J., Theresa, and Family.

I did not know Mr. Baumgardner but I know what he must have been like as a father because I am Tyrus" First Grade teacher and I have never had a boy with nicer manners than Tyrus. He is eager to help me and his classmates at all times! I see the love of his parents, Chad and Dawn, and I know that that love and good values have come from Eddie and his wife. I am so sorry for a family to lose a loved one, but I know Eddie will continue to be so proud of his family from "the best seat in the house", Heaven.

Dear Baumgardner family, we are very sad to hear of your loss. Eddie was a Special Person who had a wonderful influence on all the kids he coached, and was associated with during his lifetime. He coached our oldest son Tony and we always enjoyed going to baseball practices and visiting with the Baumgardner Family. Eddie will be missed, but he is not suffering and he is enjoying Heaven.

I will never forget the summer of coaching the Huntington Patriots with Eddie. That was one of the most fun summers that I ever experienced and Eddie was a big part of that. Always positive, always joking, and always caring about the boys. It was a pleasure to be around Eddie. I send my prayers and condolences to the family. Chad, your Dad was one of a kind. Keep his spirit alive by giving back the way he did.
Sincerely,
Randy Rollyson

To the family of Eddie Baumgardner. I never met a person I enjoyed being around more than Eddie Baumgardner! Eddie and I were great friends all through high school and even my days at Marshall University. We played basketball and many other sports till we couldn't play anymore. We often ran around in the evening and we kept up with one another long after I left Huntington. When Greg died, Eddie called me and told me as we live in Richmond, VA. I was so sad. I just couldn't imagine how you cope with losing a brother since I never had one. It was guys like Eddie that provided me brotherhood in a world without one. To those that never really knew Eddie and there weren't many around B'ville, you missed one of the finest opportunities this side of Heaven in knwoing one of the kindest and most loved friends a person could ever have. His smile was contagious and it rubbed off on you immediately, no matter what your mood. He had great parents and family and God has called one of his own home to be with Him. God Bless You Eddie and all of your family. I leave the loved ones with these words, "Be Still And Know That I am God." May you rest in eternal peace with Him forever, and ever....Amen!
