 Pauline Wheeler, 74, of Ona, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Paul Meadows. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. She was born May 18, 1934, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late William Thomas Nance and Mae Merritt Nance. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jeffrey Holliday. She was a member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bobby A. Wheeler; her children and their spouses, Rhonda L. and Roger Harsh of Parkersburg, WV, Michael and Donna Wheeler of Proctorville, OH, and Pamela Holliday of Elkview, WV; one sister, Lelia Belle Wheeler; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Juanita Nance; grandchildren, Tara and Dustin Miller, Derek and Matt Wheeler and Cory Holliday. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made to your local Hospice organization or to Hospice of Huntington, Box 464, Huntington, WV, 25709. ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO, I MADE CONTACT WITH PAULINE, ABOUT OUR FAMILY HERTIAGE (NANCE). AND SHE WAS VERY HELPFUL TO ME. WE EVEN TALKED ON THE PHONE A FEW TIMES, AND SHE WAS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL TO ME.
I WAS BORN AT ST. MARY'S HOSPITAL IN 1950, AND I LIVE IN MICHIGAN.
I GOT AN EMAIL FROM HEHS CLASS OF 68, IS HOW I FOUND OUT ABOUT HER PASSING. SUCH SAD NEWS.

Rhonda, I was sorry to read of your mothers' passing. I didn't know your parents, just seeing them at your house sometimes. I haven't seen you in so long, you may not remember us. Matthew and I still live on Fudges Creek.

Dear Bob, Rhonda, Mike & Pam,
I am so sorry for your loss. Even though words can never say enough, I mean them with all of my heart. I wish I could be there, but I am stuck here in Iowa. Pauline was always such a good neighbor and mother. It was a joy to get to see her last summer when I was home. She will be missed but dearly remembered. I remember so many things about her from my growing up days. Love and Prayers
