Della  Emogene BenderDella Emogene Bender, 76, of Barboursville, W.Va., beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville with Minister Danny Evans officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Della was born April 13, 1932, in Wayne County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Walter and Brookie Aldridge. She is also preceded in death by one brother, Wilburn Aldridge; one sister, Mary Nelson. She was a member of the Farmdale Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Rockne Bender; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Michael Slate; one son and daughter-in-law, Rockne Gene and JoAnn Bender; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Perry Ramey; one brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Effie Aldridge; six grandchildren, Heaven Ray (Cory), Cassie Jude, Michael C. Slate, Rockne A. Bender (Michelle), Nicholas Bender (Nikki) and Samantha Carlin (Luis); five great grandchildren, Destiny Ray, James Ray, Dustin Bowling, Amber Bender and Rockne G. Bender. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House or the Hospice of Huntington. Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Gene: I am so sorry to have learned of your Mother's passing. I have some very fond memories of the times there at Farmdale Church. I am so sorry to hear of your family's loss. Please know that you all will be in our prayers. I have fond memories of Ms. Della helping for so many years in V.B.S. at Farmdale. She was one of God's many blessing to the church.

Mr. B, gene, and donna. (all families included) I'm so sorry for your loss, however, aunt della has gone home to a much nicer place, without the pain and suffering. let that be your comfort. i love you all, sorry i can't come home, and be with you, but just please now that you are in my heart. we will all miss her and that beautiful personality that she melted all of us with..............she's at peace now. it's up to us to carry on........ anita and family
