1968 - 2009
 Donald Wade Miles, 40, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, formerly of Barboursville, WV, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, WV, by Brother John Skaggs, a long time friend. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born July 10, 1968, in Cabell County, a son of Bill and Linda Miles of Barboursville. He was a Baptist by faith and was a United States Marine and a Veteran of Desert Storm. He was a Paramedic with Putnam County EMS in WV, and a Flight Medic for Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY. Don also worked as a Paramedic with Vase EMS in Rock Springs, WY .He was a Safety Manager with Hemp Hill Trucking in Rock Springs, WY. He was a former member of Salt Rock and Hurricane Volunteer Fire Departments. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lyle and Hazel Miles of St. Albans, WV, and Kyle E. Wyrick of Barboursville, WV. He is survived by his parents, one grandmother, Norma Thompson of Barboursville, a son, Christopher Wade Miles, a daughter, Lindsay Nicole Miles both of Milton, WV, a fiancé, Julie Hunter of Rock Springs, WY, a sister and brother-n-law, Elizabeth Ann and Bevin Chafin of Barboursville, three brothers, Jeff Miles and his wife Carol of Barboursville, Mark Miles and his wife Louise of Bruceton Mills, WV, Billy Miles and former sister-in-law, Tara of Kalispell, MT, and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Don also had very good friends, Jimbo Frye, a beloved friend and neighbor, and Brent Jenkins of Milton, WV. Don was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and his beloved dog "Hillbilly". He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The pallbearers will include Chris Miles, Jeff Miles, Mark Miles, Billy Miles, Tracy Beckett, Jimbo Frye, Brent Jenkins and Doug Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be Hunter Meehling. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chris and Lindsay Miles Scholarship Fund, c/o City National Bank, Milton, WV 25541. To the family of Don Miles I would like to offer my sincere condolences for your loss. I don't know if you remember me or not, But I attended Christ Academy with Don, Billy and Beth. I will always remember the trip out west to play basketball and what great time we had. I wish I would I have known in time to visited with you all at the funeral home but I have been sick for the last month and just found out from Todd Hunter last night. Once again I am truly sorry at your loss and the may the comfort of God be with you in this time of sorrow.

I am sorry to hear of your tremendous loss. I knew Don while working as a paramedic with Putnam County EMS prior to me leaving for south carolina. I was a new paramedic and Don was helpfull and patient with me as I learned. Your family will remain in my prayers. Don truly was a wonderfull person and an excellent paramedic.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Don. I know this must be difficult for you. I attended Mid America with Don from 3rd to 7th grade. Don and I rode together on the school bus almost every day. I was trying to locate Don on Friday (4/24), and I just heard two days later from my parents about his passing.
